Jonathan Andrew B. Taala is a Filipino American artist and educator interested in exploring how stories emerge and persist through material culture as a way to access familial memory and explore diasporic identity.
Through the use of photographs, ephemera, and passing down of oral history, Pananglagip seeks to construct a material narrative that keeps the memory of their late father alive as a way to navigate family history and situate themselves within diaspora. The work will be shared as a part of Doc Now 2026.
