Jonathan Andrew B. Taala

Jonathan Andrew B. Taala is a Filipino American artist and educator interested in exploring how stories emerge and persist through material culture. Their practice navigates how familial memory and migration shape one’s identity within diaspora.

Through the use of photographs, ephemera, and the passing down of oral history, their image series, Pananglagip, seeks to construct a material narrative that reconstitutes their father’s legacy. The work will be shared as a part of Doc Now 2026.
